Thys van Rooyen Consulting (TVRC) is a Professional Consulting Engineers Practice specialising in Civil and Structural Engineering.

We are based in the Overberg with an office in Hermanus but undertake work throughout the Western Cape and even nationally.

Our structural engineering services involve the design of the structural elements of single and multi-storey residential, commercial and industrial buildings in reinforced concrete, steel and timber.

Our civil engineering expertise are in the design of township services (such as water and sewerage reticulation, stormwater disposal and management and cable ducting) as well as roads, paths and sidewalks. We have supervised and certified the successful installation and construction of these in several developments, both large and small.

We liaise with the architects before and during construction and also carry out structural supervision during construction of the buildings and certify the main and roof structures upon successful completion.

We are registered as a competent person with the NHBRC for residential construction.

Thys van Rooyen graduated at Stellenbosch University in 1975 and then worked in local government for 23 years in Hermanus, first as town engineer and later as town clerk. He resigned to take up a senior position with a large consulting firm, starting his own practice in 1999. TVRC now includes a motivated team of qualified and dedicated technical and administrative staff.
